XSTO M4 Powered Wheelchair: Planning Everyday UK Journeys
· simeon pass

Reviewed 10 September 2026.
The XSTO M4 combines powered movement, self-levelling technology and electric seat lifting. Choosing a chair starts with the places you want to use it: the doorway at home, your local shops, a favourite café or a journey to see friends.
Start with your routes
Bring your everyday routes to a demonstration with Bentech Medical. Ask about doorway clearances, turning space, transfers, slopes and the surfaces you expect to encounter. Check the current M4 specifications and the manual for the exact chair supplied.
Self-levelling technology does not make every surface suitable. Follow the manufacturer’s operating limits and weather guidance. Do not treat this chair as suitable for ice, deep water or every kerb. Ask our team about any route you are uncertain about before attempting it.
Check the rules before road use
A powered wheelchair’s permitted use depends on its classification and specification. A model name or an “all-terrain” description does not establish road eligibility. Ask Bentech Medical to confirm the classification of your exact chair, and check the current GOV.UK guidance on powered wheelchair classes before planning road journeys.
Plan transport and storage
Check folded dimensions, the weight of each removable part and safe lifting arrangements against your vehicle. Measure the boot opening as well as the space inside. Follow the manual when folding, disassembling and securing the chair.
Choose with support
Compare the XSTO range or contact our UK team to discuss your requirements. A demonstration helps you assess the chair’s controls, seating and handling in person.
